Holly Green

Holly Green, acupuncturist in Delray Beach, is the founder of AcuSportsTherapy Acupuncture, a unique system of sports medicine acupuncture.

Holly has many skills she utilizes including sports acupuncture, therapeutic bodywork, massage, injury assessment, posture analysis, cupping and both orthopedic muscle testing, as well as injection therapy.

It’s hardly a surprise to anyone who knows Holly Green that she would bring alternative healing modalities to the world of world-class professional athletes, amateur ballplayers, and weekend warriors, combining, as she does, two of her longest and dearest loves: alternative healing and sports. She has also worked for the past 4 years with XPE Sports NFL Combine training doing acupuncture for their recovery day.

Holly began riding horses at the tender age of 6. At 8 she competed in her first jumping event, and won her first class in Over Fence jumping. In 1984, at the age of 17, she was the National Champion in Working Hunter, an equestrian over fence jumping class at the world famous Quarter Horse Congress show in Columbus, Ohio. The following year in 1985 , she became the World Champion at the Youth World Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Just three years after that, when her father became seriously ill with pancreatic cancer, she began exploring alternative healing modalities to help his body heal itself. The quest expanded to help others heal, and would eventually direct the course of her entire professional life as an acupuncturist.

Paralleling that quest is her commitment to help fellow athletes overcome the obstacles to superior performances at the professional and Olympic levels, as well as the sports buff’s peak performance on club tennis courts, country club greens, and sporting pursuits from archery to yachting. Those obstacles include injury, stress, and overuse. Her system of Acusportstherapy has both a curative and preventive focus: helping athletes heal, and educating them on how to best use their bodies to avoid injury.

At the age of 27, Holly became a licensed massage therapist, by training at Educating Hands in Miami. Specializing in Neuromuscular Re-education, she was certified by Judith Delaney from Sarasota Florida. In 2003, she delved deep into alternative healing, studied Chinese medicine, and was graduated with a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. in 2006.

She has completed certification in the Sports Medicine Acupuncture Certification® program with Matt Callison in Boston, Mass., and her Kineseotaping® Certification with Kineseotaping® Association International in Albuquerque, NM.

On a personal note, Holly holds a B.S. degree in Psychology from Boston University, resides in Delray Beach, Florida, and, athlete that she’ll always be, scuba dives, and will always love her legend Blackie, her beloved horse of 34 years who she rode to her championships.
